Wider weather episode

An upper-level trough moved through the southern Idaho creating an unstable atmosphere. Scattered thunderstorms developed by noon and one storm became severe. An observer just west of Preston reported large trees blown down from the winds of that thunderstorm. The winds were estimated to be in excess of 58 mph (50 kts). No injuries or other damage was reported.
