A storm system from the north brought 6 to 12 inches of new snow to most mountain areas and some valleys of northwest and west-central Colorado. Heavier snowfall amounts included 13 inches at Steamboat Ski Area and 14 inches at Yampa. Brisk winds in some areas resulted in blowing and drifting snow which compounded the difficulties for travelers.
