Kodiak WSO reported visibility below 1/4-mile, falling snow and frequent gusts over 35 mph on the North and West side of island beginning around 10 p.m. and continuing overnight into February 8.

Storm total snow at Kodiak City (PADQ) was 6.2 inches with 2.1 inches in 3 hours prior to February 8, 4 a.m. AKDT.

Wider weather episode

On February 7, blizzard conditions developed on Kodiak Island as a 978 millibar low moved westward toward the island from the eastern Gulf of Alaska.
