A tight north-south pressure gradient developed in southwest Utah on this morning. This created local high winds through the canyons of Washington county. There were numerous spotter reports of sustained winds 40-50 mph with gusts over 60 mph. Aside from minor tree damage and a few screen doors being blown off their hinges, no significant damage was reported.
