A strong 955mb low in the northcentral Pacific moved to 300 miles south southeast of Shemya Thursday morning with a moderate front extending from 200 miles north of the center east and southeastward across the north Pacific. The low moved to near Amchitka Island Friday afternoon...as the front elongated northwest and eastward. Brisk easterly winds preceded the front...locally near 60 mph over open areas of the west central Aleutians.
