Event narrative

Extreme drought (D3) category persisted across parts of far northeast Pinal and west central Graham Counties, including the Santa Teresa Mountains, through March.

Between a tenth and three quarters of an inch of precipitation fell in the extreme drought area, but this was only 10 to 50 percent of normal for March. Soil moistures remained nearly the same, between the 70th and 75th percentiles. Levels at San Carlos Reservoir remained at around 16 percent of capacity throughout the month.
