Thunderstorm winds during the late afternoon and early evening hours on the 26th produced damaging winds, hail up to dime size, and damaging lightning. Thunderstorm winds knocked down numerous trees and broke off tree limbs in the vicinity of Irvin Spring Park in Lynchburg, knocked a six inch diameter tree limb onto power lines in Bedford, and toppled a six inch diameter tree in Roanoke.Lightning started a fire in a barn near Nathalie.
