Repeated heavy rain over the past couple of days caused a major rock slide that blocked and subsequently closed Interstate 40 at the North Carolina/Tennessee border. Three people were injured when their cars were hit by the tumbling rocks. The highway remains closed at the time of this writing while construction crews repair the damage.
