Heavy rains from a strong Pacific storm caused widespread but minor flooding across the Sacramento and Northern San Joaquin Valleys and nearby foothills. In Grass Valley, CA, the rains caused the sewer system to back up and contaminate Wolf Creek. In the Redding vicinity, 2000 customers lost power for about 3 hours. Hundreds of traffic accidents also occurred on the highways and city streets througout the region.
