Event narrative
An unseasonably cold and strong weather disturbance moved through southeastern California. Snow levels dropped to around 3500 feet. Snow showers developed late in the morning at the higher elevations of Joshua Tree National Park and continued into mid-afternoon. Around 2 inches of snow fell at Key's View, elevation 5200 feet, and 6 inches at Covington, elevation 4000 feet.
