Event narrative

Three to four inches of snow fell across western Hampden County.

Wider weather episode

A fast moving low pressure system skirted the south coasts of Massachusetts and Rhode Island, bringing accumulating snow to much of southern New England. The greatest snow amounts fell in these areas, though snow overspread much of the region. This snow along with the record amounts of snow received throughout the month of February resulted in approximately 50 additional roof collapses throughout the state of Massachusetts.
