Event narrative

A 28 year old male was struck and killed by lightning in the parking lot of a shopping center.

Wider weather episode

A northward retreating warm front served as the primary focus for convective development. Afternoon heating resulted in destabilization and several storms became severe, with large hail being the primary impact. Isolated flash flooding also occurred. These thunderstorms also had excessive lightning, which resulted in a fatality.
