Numerous reports via broadcast media and social media of quarter-sized hail in the city of Okeechobee. According to reports, duration of the hail was approximately 10 minutes.
Wider weather episode
Fast moving thunderstorms developed in a warm and moist atmosphere ahead of a cold front over northern Florida. A few of the storms became severe and produced multiple rounds of large hail across Okeechobee and Martin Counties.
