Six to seven inches of snow fell at the Grand Canyon Airport after the rain changed over to snow.

Wider weather episode

A strong and moist Pacific storm system continued to move across northern Arizona for the first two days of March. Heavy snow and rain started falling on February 27 and continued through March 2. Snow from this storm system went on to trigger several avalanches in the mountain peaks above 11,500 feet just north of Flagstaff during and after the storm.
