Strong high pressure over the Arcitc Ocean moved south to the Arctic Coastal Plain and then southeast to the Northwest Territories of Canada causing the moderate pressure gradient between the high and a low pressure near the Alaska Peninsula to strengthen...and also change orientation so that strong winds occurred in channeled areas of Zone 6.
