Another tornado on the evening of April 15, 1999 caused havoc in Onslow county. The tornado touched down about a mile south of Richlands and tracked across Highway 258 and disipated in the Hofmann Forest. Most of the damage was reported in the Richlands Township where nine dwellings were destroyed while fifteen others suffered minor damage. Seven people were treated for injuries.
