A 78-year old tourist went for a swim behind his condominium on Fort Lauderdale beach and drowned in a rip current. Winds had been from the east at 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph on the two days prior to the drowning and were from the southeast at 15 to 20 mph at the time of the drowning.
