A Pacific weather system dumped large amounts of snow over the Washington and Oregon Cascades. Up to 33 inches of snow were reported (Mt. Hood Meadows Ski Area). Oregon Dept. of Transportation measured 30 inches of snow from this storm at Santiam Pass on Hwy 20. The heavy snow briefly closed roads and made travel across the mountains very difficult.
