A post-frontal, trough passed through the Alaska Peninsula late Monday on its way through Kodiak Island early Tuesday. The trough was marked by gusty northwest winds across both areas, as increasingly unstable conditions allowed stronger upper level winds to mix downward to the surface.Adjusted ASOS gusts reached 59 mph across Kodiak Island (highest measured at the Kodiak Coast Guard Base airport) Tuesday.Adjusted northwest wind gusts reached 63 mph across the Alaska Peninsula at Cold Bay late Monday and very early Tuesday.
