A surge of cold, moist air from the north brought a period of heavy snow accumulations to parts of the southeast mountains and adjacent plains. On Monument Ridge, north of Colorado Springs, up to 6 inches of snow was recorded. Four to 6 inch amounts were common in the Wet mountains, southern Sangre de Cristo mountains, and in the Walsenburg area.
