Low pressure moving along a stationary front located just south of northern New England caused a mixture of precipitation to fall over central and southern Maine. In coastal areas, freezing rain caused hazardous driving conditions, while a moderate snowfall fell in central and parts of northern Maine. Snowfall amounts ranged from an inch or less along the coast and in extreme northern Maine to 2 to 7 inches across the mountains, foothills, and east-central Maine.
