A low pressure center moving along the eastern seaboard was responsible for a moderate snowfall across the north, mountains, foothills, and inland sections of downeast Maine. Snowfall amounts ranged from about 2 to 7 inches across the area before the precipitation changed to rain in all parts of the state. Coastal sections of the state saw only rain from the storm as temperatures warmed into the 40s.
