A low pressure center moving north over eastern Alaska reformed over the eastern Arctic coast and then deepened as it continued east along the Canadian Arctic coast. Winds in excess of 50 mph were confined to the area east of Flaxman Island. Strongest wind at Barter Island was 45 mph sustained, gust 54 mph.
