Three people were on a boat fishing when it was struck by lightning. One of the three people died from the lightning strike.

Scattered thunderstorms developed during the afternoon hours in a warm, moist, and slightly unstable air mass that was in place across northwestern Arkansas. No severe weather occurred but a young man was killed by lightning on Beaver Lake in Benton County.
