A blaze burned around 80 acres of dry brush in the Makakilo area in leeward Oahu. The fire threatened homes for a time, and 50 residents evacuated to a shelter at the Makakilo Community Park. In the end, the fire did not damage any structures or result in any significant injuries. Its cause was unknown.
