Periodic excessive heat continued from July into early and mid August with temperatures exceeding 95 deg F on 8 (non consecutive) days. Daytime heat index values frequently reached 100 deg F or greater. Two deaths were attributed to the heat in Ozark County on the 4th and 10th.
