Super gradient northeasterly winds, blowing into a moderate low in the western Gulf of Alaska, were recorded across lower Cook Inlet and at the entrance to Prince William Sound. These wind reports were located in areas just to the north of the arctic front. Gusts reached 73 mph at the newly installed Augustine Island C-Man site in lower Cook Inlet Thursday afternoon and evening. Wind gusts at Middleton Island reached 64 mph Thursday.
