Strengthening high pressure in the western Aleutians and persistent, moderately strong low pressure in the western Gulf of Alaska brought brisk northwest winds to the extreme eastern Aleutians and the Alaska Peninsula. Gusts reached 77 mph at the newly established reporting site at Captain's Bay around Dutch Harbor. Gusts of 63 mph were reported around Cold Bay along the Alaska Peninsula.
