A complex frontal system, approaching Kodiak Island and already into the Upper part of the Alaska Peninsula Thursday afternoon, was preceded by brisk easterly winds in much of the Bristol Bay zone. On Thursday, gusts reached 61 mph at King Salmon at 4:52 pm and 63 mph at Iliamna at 6:53 pm.Winds began to diminish after dark.Wind gusts reached 61 mph at Middleton Island in advance of the front Thursday and early Friday.The front drifted north and began to dissipate Friday morning as another low intensified southeast of the Alaska Peninsula.
