Deep low pressure in the Gulf of Alaska moving northeast and weak high pressure over the NW Yukon Territory resulted in a tightening pressure gradient over the upper Tanana Valley, producing strong east winds at Delta Junction. The Delta Junction ASOS reported gusts as high as 45 mph.
