Event narrative
A moderate front, associated with a strong 958 mb low 120 miles south of Middleton Island, was preceded by brisk east winds across much of the Gulf of Alaska waters immediately adjacent to the Alaskan coast. Wind gusts reached 62 mph at Middleton Island very early Wednesday. The front moved inland and the low weakened significantly as the day progressed Wednesday.
