Hurricane and Tropical Storm Dennis produced heavy rainfall across central and south central Virginia. The heaviest rain occurred on September 4th and 5th. Most of the area received between 2.5 and 5 inches of rain. However, in Brunswick county, as much as 10.21 inches was recorded in Lawrenceville, and 6.19 inches was recorded in Alberta.
