An intense storm which moved from the eastern Gulf of Mexico to Western New York brought high winds to the region. Barns collapsed in York (Livingston County) and Harrisburg (Lewis County). Trees and lines were downed and power outages were scattered throughout the area. In Arcade (Wyoming County) showroom windows were blown out. In Rochester (Monroe County) an overhead highway sign was blown into the path of a minivan. The driver of the vehicle, a 41-year-old male, died while his wife and daughter were not injured in the accident.
