A strong cold front moved through the region. Two semi-trailers were flipped over by the high wind gusts on Interstate 90 near Kadoka. Power lines in northeastern Meade County were blown down. The sparks from these lines ignited a fire which burned 15,000 acres of rangeland. It covered an area from 8 miles west of Faith, SD to 12 miles southeast of Faith, SD. 300 tons of hay were destroyed as well as several vacant outbuildings, fencing and corrals. Flames were reported to be as high as 40 feet at the head of the fire.
