Strong Santa Ana winds buffeted Southern California. In the mountains, northeast winds gusted up to 72 mph. Meanwhile, along the coasts and valleys, northeast winds gusted to 53 mph below passes and canyons. In San Pedro, the strong winds snapped a support cable on the Vincent Thomas Bridge, closing several lanes of traffic. In Studio City, the winds blew down a construction wall at Universal City Walk, injuring seven people.
