Event narrative

Strong outflow winds from the western Alaska Range into lower Cook Inlet produced storm force winds in several locations. Gusts reached 69 mph at the Augustine C-Man site at 9am Wednesday. 58 mph winds were reported at the Big River Lakes observing site, along the western shores of lower Cook Inlet. Additionally, temperatures in the teens coupled with the strong winds to produce significant areas of freezing spray across lower Cook Inlet.
