Lightning struck a tree in Hayti City Park which then fell on a vehicle. The person inside the vehicle was killed.

A warm front pushed through the Missouri Bootheel during the morning hours with moist and unstable air spreading over the region. An upper level disturbance moving through triggered numerous showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon hours on May 15, 2015. Lightning near Hayti resulted in a fatality.
