Event narrative

The RAWS site and the Sabine National Wildlife Refuge recorded a wind gust of 46 MPH with a line of storms before they moved over Calcasieu Lake.

Wider weather episode

A large upper level trough stalled over the southwest states while multiple short waves rotated around the larger trough over a few days. This produced multiple rounds of strong storms over the the coastal waters.
