Trained spotters reported quarter to golf ball sized hail just east of State Highway 120 near the Gooseberry Creek Rest Stop.

Wider weather episode

The combination of an upper level disturbance and a dying frontal boundary over northern Wyoming aided in the development of thunderstorms near the Absaroka Range. The storms fired around Cody and moved southeast producing large hail in southern Park and northern Hot Springs counties.
