Two women in their 20s drowned as a result of rip currents at an unguarded beach near 54th Street on Miami Beach. One woman died shortly after arrival at the hospital and the second died at the hospital four days later. The women were visiting the area from New York.

Building high pressure over Florida led to moderate east winds and a high risk of rip currents at the Atlantic beaches of southeast Florida.
