The ASOS at the Melbourne Airport recorded a 34-knot wind gust out of the south southwest as showers moved over the airfield. A subsequent wind gust of 35-knots was recorded at 1238 EST.
Wider weather episode
Weak low pressure over the eastern Gulf of Mexico enhanced offshore flow over east central Florida. Fast moving showers produced strong wind gusts as they pushed offshore Brevard County.
