Rincon del San Jose TCOON site reported numerous thunderstorm wind gusts in excess of 34 knots with a peak gust of 42 knots.

Wider weather episode

The line of thunderstorms that brought gusty winds, periods of heavy rainfall, and an abundance of lightning to the Rio Grande Valley and Deep South Texas earlier in the morning , moved off the coast and over the Laguna Madre and the lower Texas Gulf Waters. Gale force gusts were reported with the thunderstorms activity as it crossed the lower Texas coastal waters.
