Event narrative

A tornado briefly touched down along Soundside Road northeast of Columbia. Minor damage to several homes was observed with one out building destroyed. A small aluminum boat was lifted and blown a small distance. Winds were estimated at 75 to 80 mph with no injuries or fatalities.

Wider weather episode

Numerous showers and isolated thunderstorms along a stalled front lifted northeast across eastern North Carolina during the early morning of June 4th 2015. One of the storms produced a very brief EF0 tornado that touched down over Tyrrell County county causing minor damage with no injuries.
