Event narrative
Winds along a gust front in advance of a line of strong thunderstorms impacted a paddleboarder offshore Normandy Beach in South Hutchinson Island. The board was discovered in the ocean the following day about six miles north of where he entered the water, however his body was not found. Two other paddleboarders farther south in Martin County were pushed offshore by the strong winds, but were rescued and did not sustain any injuries.

A moist and unstable air mass produced early afternoon thunderstorms that resulted in strong wind gusts along the Space and Treasure Coasts. A paddleboarder offshore South Hutchinson Island in St. Lucie County was impacted by winds and likely drowned. Nearby, in Martin County, two paddleboarders were pushed seaward by the strong winds, but returned to shore with assistance and were not injured.
