USAF tower 0303 recorded a 36 knot wind gust out of the west southwest as a thunderstorm moved over Cape Canaveral.
Wider weather episode
Weak low pressure over the northeastern Gulf of Mexico combined with ample atmospheric moisture to generate numerous showers and thunderstorms that produced strong wind gusts as they pushed off the east central Florida coast.
