The AWOS at the New Smyrna Beach Airport, KEVB, recorded a peak wind gust of 35 knots as storms moved over the airfield.

Southwest flow maintained a warm and moist atmosphere over central Florida. Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms developed over the mainland and produced strong wind gusts as they pushed offshore Brevard and Volusia Counties.
