The ASOS at the Patrick Air Force Base recorded a 38 knot wind gust as storms moved offshore.
The wider storm
Southwest flow maintained a warm and moist atmosphere over central Florida. Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms developed over the mainland and produced strong wind gusts as they pushed offshore Brevard and Volusia Counties.
