Event narrative
Spotter reported an intense burst of wind blew over several light weight objects on the property, including lawn furniture and a dog house. The dog was not injured.
Wider weather episode
A well-defined moisture plume surged back east over New Mexico as an upper level trough migrated eastward into California. Scattered showers and thunderstorms that developed along the Continental Divide battled the low level dry air from the previous several days. A storm crossed the area around El Morro and produced a severe downburst wind along State Road 53. Spotters estimated wind speeds topping well over 60 mph.
