A second thunderstorm produced a wind gust of 34 knots (39 mph) at Brandywine Shoal Light.

Wider weather episode

A series of thunderstorms with strong wind gusts moved across the area waters during the second half of the afternoon and into the evening of the 27th. The thunderstorms developed in close proximity to a warm front that moved northeast from the lower Chesapeake Bay on the afternoon of the 27th to the central New Jersey coast around Midnight EDT on the 28th and near New York City on the morning of the 28th.
