Event narrative
Thunderstorm outflow winds around 50 mph capsized a catamaran approximately 2 to 3 miles offshore of Navarre Beach. Four people were rescued with no injuries reported.
Wider weather episode
A large outflow boundary produced from thunderstorms well inland, quickly raced south across the Alabama and northwest Florida coastal waters on the afternoon of June 30th. Numerous strong wind gusts were produced by this outflow boundary.
